Rev. Charles B. Williams, Jr. is a native of Charlotte, North Carolina, the son of the late Charlie and Annie Williams, and the youngest of six siblings. Rev. Williams is married to Rev. Janice L. Williams of Columbia, SC. They are the parents of two children, Charles B. Williams III and Jessica N. Williams, and the very proud grandparents of their first grandson, Charles IV.
Rev. Williams was educated in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School systems, graduating from West Charlotte High School. He furthered his education receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Miles College in Fairfield, AL; worked toward a Master of Business Administration at Alabama A&M University Graduate Program in Huntsville, AL; and completed his Master of Divinity in Church Administration from the Phillips School of Theology at the Interdenominational Theological Seminary in Atlanta, GA.
Rev. Williams has pastored several churches in the 5th Episcopal District on the Birmingham, Anniston, and Tuscaloosa Districts. He is the current pastor of St. Mark Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, Birmingham, AL.
Rev. Williams worked as a Compensation Analyst for 23 years with the Jefferson County Personnel Board of Birmingham, AL; 5 years as Learning Center Administrator and then 2 years as Director of Operations with Jimmie Hale Mission; and 2 years as a Career Service Instructor with The Dannon Project of Birmingham, from which he entered retirement from secular employment in August 2024.
Throughout his ministry, Rev. Williams has emphasized the importance of social justice ministry by being actively involved in the surrounding communities of Northport, AL and Birmingham — including the Collegeville Neighborhood Association, The North Birmingham Ministerial Alliance, and Faith In Action of Birmingham. He has served on various levels of leadership within the Fifth Episcopal District of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church.
Rev. Williams is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of PSP (People Strengthening People) Community Outreach, Inc.
